Kuchma Pretends to Restore Yanukovych as Prime Minister

As the LIHABiznesInform information agency reported, this morning, Leonid Kuchma signed the decree suspending Mykola Azarov as acting Prime Minister of Ukraine.

By doing this, Kuchma attmepted to restore the former presidential candidate Viktor Yanukovych (who, according to the CEC lost the elections) as prime minister.

Vice Premier Azarov has been the acting prime minister since Yanukovych was forced to take a leave in December, following the demands of the opposition.

LIHABiznesInform cites information received from the Central Administration of the Information Policy of the Presidential Administration.

Maidan-Inform cites the Verkhovna Rada decree of no-confidence for Premier Yanukovych. Thus, Yanukovych, in fact, is not Prime Minister and has no right to manage the government, and Kuchma has just signed an illegitimate order.
