<b>Le premier ministre ukrainien, victime d'un "jet d'oeuf", à l'hôpital</b> On savait la campagne ukrainienne pour l'élection présidentielle mouvementée. Aujourd'hui elle a franchement pris des allures de commedia dell'arte. Dans le rôle principal, Viktor Ianoukovitch le Premier ministre et candidat le mieux placé. Il s'est retrouvé face aux partisans de son principal adversaire. -qui lui affirmait la semaine dernière avoir été victime d'une tentative d'empoisonnement par son rival. Cette fois c'est le Premier ministre la victime : touché par un projectile à sa descente d'autobus. Ce qui a mis l'homme à terre, sauf que le projectile en question s'est avéré être... un oeuf. Et que comme l'ont prouvé les images d'une caméra, il y a eu un décalage entre le moment où le ministre a reçu l'œuf et celui où il s'est "effondré".Plusieurs versions se sont succédées, les autorités ont même affirmé qu'il avait été touché par un objet contondant. Rendant ses adversaires responsables de cette "agression" Ianoukovitch a été transporté brièvement à l'hôpital.
<b>Ukraine Prime Minister floored by an egg</b> Political violence is a serious issue, not least in Ukraine which is regularly criticised by human rights organisations. All the more bizarre then was this incident in which Prime Minister Viktor Yanukovich on a campaign visit to western Ukraine appears to be seriously injured when a missile thrown from the crowd hits him in the chest. He is immediately bundled into a waiting car and rushed to hospital where he convalesced for several hours. Closer examination of the incident shows that the portly prime minister was actually floored by an egg.
Video footage shows Yanukovic hit by the egg. He looks down with horror at the yolk running down his rain-coat and collapses. The incident has led some to conclude that either eggs are particularly hard in Ukraine or, in a campaign characterised by dirty tricks, this is the political equivalent of diving in the penalty area.
