In this weeks's Newsweek, page 9:

On the eve of 21 Nov 2 kilos of special plastic explosives with a remote detonator where found in Yuschenko's car
in front of his headquarters. Confidential sources inform
that two Russians traveling on false passports were
arrested in connection with this. They said that they had
been promised $200,000 to assassinate Yuschenko. The
special explosives were identified as having been formerly
used by the KGB.
