BBC Monitoring Service - United Kingdom; Feb 6, 2001
Text of report by Ukrainian television on 6 February
[0325-0420][Presenter] At this very time, the Ukraine Without Kuchma rally continues on Khreshchatyk. Our correspondent, Eduard Lozovyy, is there. Greetings, Eduard, so how many people are taking part and what is going on now?
[Correspondent: Eduard Lozovyy, speaking by phone] A big crowd has gathered here, it is hard for me to assess the number of participants, being in the middle of them, but the organizers claim is is about 10,000 people. Certainly, this is not far from the truth. Almost all opposition parties are here, from the Komsomol and the socialists to the republicans, conservatives and UNA-UNSD [Ukrainian National Assembly-Ukrainian National Self-Defence].
