The U.S.-Ukraine Foundation is seeking a select group of young men
and women who consider themselves "leaders for tomorrow" and who are
interested in U.S.-Ukraine relations within the context of the
overall U.S. community or the Ukrainian-American community to
participate in the 2nd Annual Youth Leadership Program 2003.

This special "Washington experience" introduces college students,
ages 18-22, to some of the essential elements of leadership in a
week-long program of meetings and discussions at some of DC's key
institutions.

Through interaction with DC's leaders, students learn about public
policy, the political process, U.S.-Ukraine relations, the importance
of the Ukrainian-American community in U.S.-Ukraine affairs, the need
for activism, and the wide genre of careers available in Washington.
They also gain a greater appreciation of the culture, institutions,
and history of Ukraine. Plus see the landmarks of Washington!

This important program addresses the Ukrainian-American community's
need for greater leadership training and political activism for the
rising generation. YLP seeks to shape the Ukrainian-American
community's youth for the leadership roles they will take on in the
future within the community, U.S. government, and international
relations. The Youth Leadership Program arms participants with new
skills, and most importantly, helps inspire in them the confidence
and ambition to participate in public affairs.

Students entering or enrolled in college and ages 18-22 are invited
to apply to YLP 2003. Program costs and lodging will be free.
Students will be responsible for transportation (to and from
Washington) and meal costs. If you would like to learn more about YLP
