Ukraine’s Tatar inheritance

More than 250,000 Tatars returned to the Republic of Crimea (part of Ukraine) after the break-up of the Soviet Union. Stalin deported this Turkish-speaking Sunni ethnic group to Soviet Central Asia in 1944; the survivors and their descendants are hardly welcome.
