Experts on “Environmental Protection for the Black Sea” - Georgia, Moldova, Russia, Ukraine

In preparation for a TACIS project on “Environmental Protection for the Black Sea”, EMS-Expert Search is looking to identify several key experts. In order to address the environmental problems –mainly, though not exclusively related to water pollution, preventive and remedial policies and legislation need to be promoted a! nd developed in the countries surrounding the Black Sea. This clearly should also involve expertise (government and other) from areas other then environment (e.g. agriculture, industry) to come to workable and effective solutions. This should be achieved through improved regional co-operation in the Black Sea region on environment and further development of preventive and remedial policies and legislation in the countries around the Black Sea.
The experts we are looking for should have the following knowledge and experience:
Qualification:
Eligibility: Open to all nationalities/ candidates from TACIS countries are especially welcome to apply
Deadline: February 20th, 2006
Starting date: Not known yet
Duration: Not known yet
Location: Russian Federation, Georgia, Moldova, Ukraine
Release date: January 30th, 2005
Required qualifications:
• Good knowledge of Environmental Protection Issues, especially in one ! or more of the following areas:
o Water Pollution
o Preventive and remedial policies and legislation
o Regional agricultural and industrial policies and their environmental impact
• University degree at MA/ Msc level or equivalent
• At least 5 years of experience working in the field of “Environmental Protection”
• Good knowledge of English
Desired qualifications:
• MA or PhD in a field related to Environmental Protection
• 10 years of experience in progressively responsible positions related to Environmental Protection
• Experience working on international donor-funded projects in the NIS
• Good knowledge of the Russian, Ukrainian, Romanian, Georgian languages
