Dear Dr. Pinchuk,
I just wanted to write and provide an explanation for why I have had to withdraw from MUW. My fiancee and I have separated and I am returning to Michigan. I am deeply saddened that I could not finish the semester here. This decision was very difficult, but I need my family now.
Thank you for being such a kind and enlightening professor. I have really enjoyed being one of your students and I will miss your class.
You requested we send you something about what we learned regarding evolution. I learned a great deal from your lectures and class discussion. I had no idea that some high school students were denied the opportunity to learn about evolution. I had no idea that evolution was feared and misunderstood by so many in this area. This experience has been eye-opening! Some of the most important points you made (in my opinion) were the facts that Darwin was not answering the question of how life began, but rather how a species evolved and that an individual could believe in evolution and still believe in God and religion.
I have a great deal of respect for the job you do everyday. I wish you the best in career. Thank you again for being so kind, especially when I was dealing with the death of my Grandmother. I'll miss your class and your lectures. Take care.
