Kharkiv. June 11, 2025. Under the strawberry moon Russian killer drones attacked the sleeping city. A drone struck an apartment where the she-dog Monia lived. Monia’s owners died in the hospital.
The strawberry moon over Kharkiv was so bright that people confused its light with the fires.
The drone struck a 5-story apartment building shortly after midnight, exploding inside.
The resquer found a scared dog with the burnt fur.
The dog was trembling and disoriented. The owners were not nearby. Our team took it and started looking for the owners.
In the daytime we got back to the crime scene with the dog.
The dog was shaken to see the familiar place. Perhaps she was there for the last time.
The apartment the dog lived in has no roof.

The Russian drone exploded inside the apartment, destroying the floor.
This is what is left of the dog’s owner, the woman’s skin was burnt 80%, the doctors could not save her. She survived her husband for a few hours.
The dog’s name is Monia, while she was looking at the crime scene, the dog owners of Kharkiv were searching for the relatives.
And the social networks found an in-law of the diseased owners and Monia is going to meet her.
Monia meets Vira, the in-law of the deceased owners, and she is very happy to hug the dog on this tragic day.
This is Yevhen, the war journalist who saved the dog 16 hours before and spent all this time documenting the crime, caring for the dog, and driving around the big city. He is happy Monia found a new home and he is already missing her.
